Playing to Win!
The Wayne State Motorsports Formula Electric was formed in 2014 with the mission to design, build, test, develop, and finance a high-performance, electric Formula 1-style race car. With a dynamic hands on approach, we gain the skills and practical knowledge to succeed in the automotive industry.
Formula Hybrid is organized by Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth. The competition is sponsored and endorsement by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The competition takes place at New Hampshire International Speedway in the spring against teams from all over the world.
Through our sponsorship package, WSM sponsors are supporting the engineering leaders of tomorrow. By sponsoring WSM companies gain exposure at national and international competitions we attend. Our sponsors company logos will be displayed on our car, website, and marketing material.
We are the Motor City's only formula electric race team. Our goal is to support young aspiring engineers looking to make an impact on the future of the automotive industry.
SAE International will hold its annual Formula SAE® competition at Michigan International Speedway on May 13-16. The competition has been held at MIS since 2008. Over the course of four days, the vehicles are judged in a series of static and dynamic events including: technical inspection, cost, presentation and engineering design, solo performance trials and high performance track endurance. The events are scored to determine how well the car performs. In each event, the manufacturing firm has specified minimum acceptable performance levels that are reflected in the scoring equations.
